What it’s for
Creative Technology exists to help creatives explore, develop, and realise ideas that require a technical solution — from straightforward technical documentation, such as a stage plot, to something more elaborate involving custom mechanisms, interactive systems, or specialised performance effects.
How it works
Work can start with a simple consultation and grow from there: understanding the creative intention first, then exploring what approach could support it, before moving into detailed design and, where needed, management of implementation. The scope is tailored to the project rather than fixed in advance, so it suits a quick feasibility conversation as readily as a fully developed technical build.
Why work with Cothrom
Dominic’s work as Production Manager and Creative Technology for Cothrom includes CAD schematics, network diagrams, and automation cue sheets for multidisciplinary productions. In R&D at Tait Towers, he collaborated with designers to troubleshoot prototype automation systems for clients including Disney, Las Vegas productions, and Hollywood film projects, developing new control methodologies to improve reliability.
With Cirque du Soleil, he designed custom electronic solutions under tight timelines, including specialised circuits for lighting effects and visual cueing systems used production-wide. His film and television credits include work as an automation systems operator on Ireland’s Got Talent and as an LED video wall technician on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
